Thank you to Juan José, Martha, Carla, Adlemy, and
Esmeralda, our "Youth Volunteers for PROBEA in Loreto,
BCS" for your preparation, support, delivery and participation
with us in the 7th Annual Turtle Conference held in Loreto,
January 29 - 31. Together we produced an event for 38 children,
K - 9, from different communities from the Peninsula. The
event included hands-on activities and a trip to the beach
to look for turtles.
In addition, workshop leaders offered adult
conference attendees two turtle-related workshops. Leaders
used teaching/learning strategies to deliver the information
and to serve as a model for teaching. On the final afternoon
of the conference, the participating children displayed their
best work about turtles including posters, brochures, poems,
stories, drawings, and a sandbox for baby turtles. Parents,
sisters, and brothers attended the celebration. Each participant,
as well as the volunteers, received a diploma for their participation.
